Draft Night: Draft Dalton Knecht (even more offensive fire power off bench) and Ryan Dunn(one of the better defensive prospects of late)

FA:

-Sign and trade for Okoro, he’s a hometown kid who’s shown flashes of being the elite two way/3 and d specialist he was expected to be, coming out of Auburn, I mean the defensive prowess and motor are evident, and the shots developed over the past seasons. However I’ve watched some film on Okoro recently and he’s made some questionable choices in the clutch on the defensive end, in the Heat game for example when he lunged at Rozier and gave him the and 1 for him to tie the game; there’s obviously matchups where I’m sure the Cavaliers could actually benefit from having the length and reach of Hunter, instead of Okoro’s big frame and smaller wingspan; now I’m not saying Okoro’s a liability on the defense (cause that would be the farthest from the truth) I’m just saying there’s definitely possessions and matchups where the length is desired. There’s also Okoro’s inability to knock down the open shot and stretch the defense, from what I’ve seen isn’t to alarming, however Hunter could provide the ability to stretch the defense and cause lanes to open up for there elite back court. In conclusion it’s A Gritty defensive minded undersized wing, in exchange for an athletic floor stretcher with good size who has a low motor on the defensive end. And before u comment Cavs wouldn’t do this, just take into consideration that a lot can happen between now and July, just look at what the Celtics did last offseason, because they didn’t go all the way, they made all those moves no one seen coming, even me, just saying.

-Sign Taurean Prince ( a vet who understands system had 3 year stint it Atlanta, he could play rotational minutes, but he might be in more of a next man up/Wes Mathew’s/mentor role) He can knock down the open shot and hold his own defensively, overall could be great complimentary piece for the elite playmakers in the backcourt.

-In my opinion they should match whatever Saddiq gets offered but I’m sure he wants his max value so I guess it depends on how much he’s offered, but he is a big glue guy who helped the Hawks develop there offensive rebounding identity, and I like how good he performed during that stretch with no Hunter.

-And that should be all the roster spots, so obviously try to add defense, it’d be very beneficial. Obviously the Hawks live and die by the three, they’re a team that likes to leak out, get in transition and take a-lot of threes; however they’re ability to control the glass is actually impressive. I believe with my hypothetical additions they’ll have some more reliable depth on the defensive end for certain matchups, and might actually be able to have a somewhat mediocre defensive identity.
