It's no secret that Bam Adebayo and Donovan Mitchell share a strong friendship and both players have hinted at playing together in the past. With Spida seemingly unhappy in Cleveland and reports that a trade may be coming if he doesn't reach an extension soon, as well as Adrian Wojnarowski reporting the Heat are well positioned to land a star who aligns with Bam Adebayo's timeline I think it’s all but certain Miami makes the phone call to inquire about the possibility of bringing Spida to South Beach.

In this deal the Heat gets the star scorer they've been lacking who should slide into the lineup seamlessly with his great chemistry with Bam. Miami has been star hunting the last few offseasons and has come up empty time and time again. After just being eliminated from the NBA playoffs by the Boston Celtics and with Jimmy Butler’s better years coming to an end they need to make a big move now more than ever. Mitchell provides that consistent scoring spark Miami lacks on a night to night basis and he makes them an instant top dog in the east.

Cleveland lands an excellent shot creator in Tyler Herro who can start next to Garland right away. He's a very skilled 2 guard who can play off the ball as well as create his own shot with his shifty handle. This trade assumes Caleb Martin picks up his player option to be traded to Cleveland to be reunited with former teammate and good friend Max Strus who signed with the Cavaliers last offseason. Caleb is a very athletic wing with great on ball defense who also shoots 35% from behind the arc making him a catch and shoot threat. With Georges Niang getting older and Dean Wade not being a long term solution at backup PF the Cavs also bring in the very versatile 20 year old Nikola Jovic to back up and develop alongside Evan Mobley. Jovic took a massive 2nd year leap solidifying himself as the starting 4 for the Heat during the 2nd half of the season. He’s a very creative wing who has tremendous playmaking upside. Jovic looks very promising at just 20 years old and I think Miami is going to do whatever they can to avoid giving him up but I think this makes the most sense to get the deal done.
