As we see right now, the Mavericks are pretty much a great defensive team, but a pretty shit offensive team in the playoffs. They really need a consistant scoring boost in their front court. Now, I would prefer Mikail Bridges or Lauri or Herb or Deni Avdija over Grant, but I doubt our assets are enough to get any one of them. They are pretty much all amazing young players on even better contracts that every team in the league wants. But Grant is on a pretty bad contract on a rebuilding team, which means Dallas could probably pull him. He would add phisicality, size and muscle and would be far from a minus on the defensive end. He is a pretty reliable shooter as far as I know (mostly from stat tbh, have not been watching Portland or Detroit) and a great scorer in general. Yes, the contract is bad, but can Dallas afford a great player on a great contract? Lmk in the comments
