I’m basing this trade off the assumption that the 76ers lose the series to the Hawks… I’m not totally sure abt the side players in this deal (Roco and Curry) but it would make sense that the blazers give up CJ and Roco (to help return at least some of the defense their giving up in Simmons) along with this years frp and 2024 top 8 protected and 2 srp for Simmons and Curry (makes money work along with a solid replacement for CJ)

Why the Blazers would do this: Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have tried to work as a duo and tbh have not succeeded. The blazers Get Back a more defensive minded playmaker in Simmons along with a good off ball shooting guard in Curry.

Why the 76ers would do this: Ben Simmons has shown that he isn’t someone you can rely on when u need a bucket. CJ wil not only be a reliable scorer but he will also pull defenders out of the paint opening up space for embiid to eat. They also get back a great 3 and D player in Robert Covington who has proved time and time again that he can defend the best of the best in key situations. They obviously wouldn’t do this trade straight up (CJ and Roco for Simmons and Curry) but with the addition of 2 frp and 2 srp it’s definitely something they would consider especially after the way Simmons has preformed during this years playoffs.
