Explanation: although my value trade wise might not be great, the idea here is that OKC has 1.Too many picks, 2. Lots of picks before 2028, and 3.Plenty of young talent already. OKC cannot afford to pay everyone if they keep drafting lottery picks in the next couple drafts. OKC can also not roster as many players as they have upcoming picks. This is a good problem to have and can be capitalized on if they do the correct moves. This is why I propose this two timeline plan. By consolidating picks into more valuable and farther out picks (2031), they can build around the team they already have without having to worry about the too many draft pick problem for a while. And than when 2031 rolls around, OKC will probably be at their peak or starting to pass that point. This won’t be a problem as the 4 valuable 2031 picks along with their own pick insures they will be able to land some crazy talent in that draft, possibly 4 lottery picks. This will allow a second timeline to start and a new OKC era that is built around the talent acquired in the 2030 and 2031 draft.
To summarize: OKC trades recent picks they can’t really use, to get more valuable picks in the future. This will allow more flexibility and keep OKC good for longer.
