Adding elite defensive players and bolstering offensive production off the bench, this is my dream celtics offseason. note: I forgot to add a FRP and SRP going to san antonio

Memphis trade: After the Bledsoe trade, it is apparent that the grizzlies have decided to turn towards their future rather than winning now. Relieving them of cap space while also providing them with a 3&D wing who can learn under brooks, the Celtics add kyle anderson to the roster. He provides playmaking, shooting, pace setting, and defensive prowess as an overqualified 6th man.

Utah trade: A team stuck in a weird place as far as being at the crossroads of young and old players, the jazz relieve some cap, opening up space for a full MLE while remaining under the luxury tax. In return, the Celtics get one of the best wing defenders in the league who is also a corner specialist in Royce O'Neal. One of the better 3&D players in the league, O'Neal is only 28 and as such will be able to remain a rotational player for years to come.

Spurs trade: With a lottery pick this year and young stars in Keldon johnson and dejounte Murray, the Spurs are currently in the middle of a rebuild. They will hopefully be able to add assets in a demar sign and trade but there are no guarantees and this deal would bolster their pile of assets while giving them an expiring contract and as such a good amount of added cap space for the amazing 2022 free agency class. The Celtics acquire a second round pick in this year's stacked draft as well as one of the best defensive bigs in the league in Jakob Poeltl.

Mavs trade: A team that was rumored to want horford earlier this year, the Mavs get their man in this trade. With a lack of defensive identity in the frontcourt, Dallas would greatly benefit from getting a big like horford, and also get a young project player in grant Williams. Due to the Celtics cap space problems, the main return they are getting is cap flexibility but dorian finney smith is another player who would be in green in this hypothetical trade. He provides great defense, hustle, and solid perimeter shooting.

Free Agency: Signing Patty Mills and getting fournier back would help the Celtics offense immensely as both are dynamic scorers and playmakers overall. Neither is great defensively but that would be far from an issue on the team after this trade.

Draft: With picks at 41 and 45, the Celtics would have a few avenues to explore. However, I think the best way to go would be adding more defensive players with some offensive ability to take over as the newly acquired players enter their older years. My favorite picks for the Celtics in that vein would be david johnson, Herbert jones, aamir simms and Jeremiah robinson earl, with jason preston being an option that is such a phenom offensively that I can overlook his defensive struggles.

    Potential Lineup:

    Smart - Fournier - Brown - Tatum - RW3

    Patty - Anderson - O'Neal - DFS - Poeltl

    David johnson - PP - Langford - Herb/JRE - Tacko?

Please feel free to share any thoughts you might have and whether or not you think the other teams in this post would accept.
