Celtics

It's hard to know the value of what the Celtics should send out. You want to get the star player, but you also need to fill out the roster around the stars. I think Simmons + Jays + Timelord could be great, but you definitely need another shooter and preferably you end up with some bench scoring. The size and defensive versatility enables you to add a shooter from any position though. An unintended consequence is that the C's get out from under the tax and can add a player on the buyout market.

76ers

With Simmons gone, they will need a PG. I think a Smart + Beal back-court gives them scoring and covers any defensive liabilities that Beal may possess. 76ers get their star and likely continue to be a top defense. I wonder if the 1st rounder is too much for them though.

Wizards

Wizards only entertain the Celtics in this if they go into rebuild mode and prefer draft picks over Simmons. Personally, I think a rebuilding team would prefer draft picks, even if they are late first rounders. I wonder if the Wizards would require another 1st rounder from the Celtics though. Horford's contract only has 14mil guaranteed next year.

Overall

Likelihood is probably minimal as the 76ers and Celtics are division rivals. I do think this is beneficial to all teams involved, but maybe not enough value for the Wizards. In the end, it's likely that other teams would outbid the Celtics if a 3-team deal were to be brokered. I'd love to add Simmons, but I don't necessarily see how you get him and continue to have assets to work with to fill-out the roster.
