This season is about to get wild for Arizona State because Sam Leavitt and Jordyn Tyson are both about to finish in the top 5 of Heisman voting. Yeah you heard me right two players from ASU in the Heisman top 5. people gonna be trippin but here’s exactly why it makes sense
Sam Leavitt the Qb Sensation
Leavitt came in and immediately took over. Arizona State‘s depth charts show him as the clear starter with Jeff Sims as backup . In EA CFB ’26 Leavitt is already a 91 overall he’s listed as the highest Qb for ASU . He’s athletic, throws tight dots, and was the first Sun Devil to launch six games with at least three touchdown passes in a single season since 2015. And brought them to the CFP.
Early returns had him named Preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year . That sets the stage for hype. but what really gets the eyeballs is the chemistry with Tyson.
Jordyn Tyson the Big 12 Phantom
Tyson is the forgotten superstar at ASU. He’s got a 94 overall rating in EA CFB ’26  . He led receivers with 75 catches 1100 yards and 10 TDs last year . He made All-Big 12 and almost a unanimous pick just behind Leavitt .
Whisperers say Tyson recovered from a collarbone injury and is hungrier than any receiver in the country.

In the EA CFB rating world only two combos get this kind of hype: Leavitt and Tyson. both top 5 players in their positions nationally  . That means every drive in Tempe is gonna be highlight reel central. They already have NFL buzz mock drafters mention Tyson as a top wideout prospect for ’26
Why They’ll Both Finish Top 5 in Heisman
Leavitt is expected to throw 4500 yards 40+ TDs. That’s Heisman profile. Tyson is the clear go-to and will reel in 100 catches 1400+ yards.
Leavitt is a gunslinger. Tysons gonna make defenders look silly on blitz pickups and jump balls. expect a few reversal-angle montage plays that Courtside viewers drool over.
Two stars from the same school finishing top 5 is rare. ASU isn’t a marquee program right now so this would feel fresh and disruptive. media will eat that chaos up.
But Wait There’s Risk
Tyson missed the big game last year with collarbone injury . If he misses time this year the magic fades fast. Leavitt is also a smoother transfer story so if ASU gets 11 ish wins and a Big12 championship again they might pick the story with the Qb… but top 5 is locked in.
