I started thinking about it and I really can't think of a better defensive prospect. Hakeem? He was a little raw coming out of college on the defensive end I think, he had not been playing basketball for a very long time. Ralph Sampson maybe? Arvydas Sabonis? Wilt, Kareem, Bill (Russell or Walton)? I think all of those guys have cases, but the combination of timing, height (legit think Wemby is 7 foot 5 at this point, he looked taller than Zach Edey at the U-19s), mobility (most mobile guy at 7 foot 3 or above ever, outside of maybe Ralph Sampson but probably not), athleticism (bonkers ground coverage), passion, and general IQ makes Victor Wembanyama the greatest defensive prospect of all time.
