I want to first start this off by saying I’m not even sure if KOT4Q will see this, but I just wanted to get this off my chest.

I have been a fan of KOT4Q for about seven years now, and have watched him grow from a small channel making NBA quizzes, to an a million subscriber channel making great NBA content and great content in general on multiple channels. Surprisingly, I was featured in a trade challenge he recently did. The premise of the video was that he went on Fanspo and used top trades by creators on Fanspo to see how realistic the simulation would end up being.

As I said I was in video, and he said he hated the trade. His main problem with the trade was that I was overvaluing Zach Lavine’s trade value, the bulls don’t really get anyone back, and the Pels backcourt defense would be weak. By the end of the simulation, the Bulls still were doing well and Pels made it to the finals (who also had another trade for them).

I really didn’t spend that much time on the trade but I will still give my argument. I did spend a bit of time on the trade and as you would assume and it went through various changes. Originally it was going to be C.J. or Herb Jones that were the centerpiece of the trade but I decided it would be better to get a full on rebuild. At the time (and still now) their was rumors about ZL being traded and also things about the Bulls lack of being able to win trades after adding on major pieces ( Caruso, Lonzo, Drummond, Goran, Etc.). I was originally going to trade DeMar as well but I thought it would be to much.

You can look at the trade and the actual post to see the full trade but the trade basically was Bulls Receive: Larry Nance, Devonte’ Graham, Dyson Daniels, Garret Temple, and picks Pelicans receive: Zach LaVine and Tony Bradley. For the Pels I thought that they could add on a final star to make them a dynasty. They already had Zion, C.J., and Brandon Ingram but I thought adding on one more star would complete them. They had Herb but never really had a star at that position so I thought they could add one. There backcourt defense wouldn’t be the best but they still have other good defenders on the team. Also four FRP, three FRO swaps, and a second or two wouldn’t really hurt them if they are contending. For the Bulls, I thought that if they were going into a rebuild this would be a great option. They get a surplus of picks, add on a guard in Devonte’ Graham who could find his place and really play well, Larry Nance would be a great forward to add, and Dyson Daniels could be a future star.

Although they could each get a better return, for me the point of Fanspo and basketball is to have fun and have your own opinion on teams and players no matter what. That’s the beauty of it and that’s why Basketball is so fun. And opinions can differ because from as he showed, this was a top liked trade but he still didn’t like it. That’s all.
