Kings Zen GM series #2

Here's the first one if you didn't see it: https://fanspo.com/nba/s/general/p/r7pwGLvByD1gm-/i-played-a-real-players-2022-bbgm-league-with-sactown-heres-a-bunch-of-moves-i-made

I simmed to the trade deadline.

We’re currently 28-21, good for the fourth seed in the western conference.

As for the team, it’s doing pretty well. Four guys are scoring in double figures, led by Desmond Bane with 15.9, followed by JJJ with 15.2, Aaron Gordon with 13.5, Tyrese Maxey with 11.7, and Jeremy Lamb with 11.3. Kuminga and Walker are pretty close to ten ppg, at 9.4 and 9.0, respectively. We’re not shooting the hottest, with only Desmond Bane being a qualified shooter over 40 percent from three (The GOAT himself Josh Jackson is shooting 100% from three). JJJ, Aaron Gordon, and Tyrese Maxey in particular aren’t shooting the greatest, at 54/33/72, 50/31/65, and 38/32/81, respectively. Our entire team isn’t doing well shooting. We’re 28th in field goal percentage, 15th in three point percentage, 27th in two point percentage, and 28th in free throw percentage. We’re also 27th in assists per game. As a result, we’re 24th in points scored per game. But why are we still seven games over .500? Defense and rebounding. We’re cleaning up the boards, ranking second in offensive rebounds per game and eighth in defensive rebounds per game. As a result, we’re third in total rebounds per game. We also get the third most steals per game and the second most blocks. For that reason, we allow 102.4 points per game.

The league is mostly the same, although there’s quite a few big trades.

  • The Thunder traded a 2024 UTA 1st round pick and Jaylen Hoard for Clint Capela.

  • The Cavs traded Collin Sexton and a 2022 SA 2nd for Mikal Bridges.

  • The Grizzlies traded Tyrell Terry and a 2028 1st for Jordan Nwora.

  • The Spurs traded Enes Freedom and a 2022 BOS 1st for Robert Williams III and a 2026 BOS 2nd.

  • The Nuggets traded Bryn Forbes and Demarcus Cousins for Lou Williams.

  • The Hawks traded De’andre Hunter and Bryn Forbes for RJ Barrett.

  • The Bulls traded Demar Derozan, Marko Simonovic, Malcolm Hill, and a 2028 1st for Devin Booker.

Now, the question is whether I want to do anything at the deadline. If I can pick up some shooting, that’d be nice, but I’m not going to go all-in.

First trade: Robert Williams and Charles Bassey for a 2022 SAC 1st round pick. I saw how undervalued the Timelord was and acted. He’s a 25 year old 60/62 expiring contract, but I can resign him. This is a great trade for me, as the first is going to likely land in the twenties. This doesn’t help my shooting woes, but oh well. The value was too good to pass up.

Second trade: Justin Holiday for Facundo Campazzo, Paul Millsap, and a 2028 SAC 2nd. I get Holiday right back. His spacing could be vital.

Third trade: Donte Divencenzo for Thomas Bryant

With the addition of Justin Holiday, Divencenzo is going to have even less of a role than he had before. Plus, he's on an expiring contract. I don’t think I’m going to resign him. Therefore, I traded him for Thomas Bryant, who’s a solid backup big.

Roster:

PG: Davion Mitchell, Tyrese Maxey

SG: Desmond Bane, Lonnie Walker IV, Josh Jackson

SF: Aaron Gordon, Jeremy Lamb, Jonathan Kuminga

PF: JJJ, Jamychal Green, Paul Millsap

C: Robert Williams III, Thomas Bryant, Damian Jones, Neemias Queta

Hopefully this team does well.

If y'all want any other stats, let me know and I'll tell you.
