New Orleans: B-
The salary cap is the clear culprit of this trade. For a team that just finished at the bottom of the conference they were just shy of the tax. Moving CJ made sense, a player who never truly fit the timeline of this team, never really having much success playoff wise in NOLA. Poole gives them a younger guy who can help the playmaking and scoring that they lose with Dejounte out. Olynk though is a good fit for Zion for a team with an already lacking frontcourt.
Washington: B
The Wizards are just acquiring every non desirable veteran on the market. Adding McCollum makes them one of the highest cap space teams next year, and if they decide to keep him, he can be a veteran presence in the locker room. Olynk seems like a buyout candidate, given age and salary, meanwhile adding McCollum can give guards like Bub, a grown up that shows them how to truly develop in this league.
