Here's the logic...
Suns retool for next season adding both Grant and Collins to replace Ayton and Crowder. Team gets faster/more explosive while also taking some offensive pressure on Chris Paul
Pistons add a rim protector and a solid role player on an expiring contract along with a first round pick. If the Pistons decide they want to contend they can keep both Capella and Crowder and go for it but most likely both will be rerouted for future assets down the road. Either way it's a win for the Pistons
Hawks get their guy. While I'm not personally the biggest fan of Ayton, this trade allows the Hawks to pair Trae Young with a potential second star while also shaking up a roster that underachieved last season
