The Celtics desperately need a point guard to structure the offence and prevent so many of these turnovers that cost the Celtics in the finals. Tyus Jones is perfect in that role. He is an excellent playmaker, almost never turns the ball over and has a very underrated offensive game. In a bigger role as a starter, his numbers will improve. He is the exact type of point guard they need to cut down the turnovers which would allow them to run a far more fluid offence.

There is a high chance Tyus Jones leaves the Grizzlies in search of a starter role and money. He won't get that in Memphis. So instead of him leaving for nothing why not replace with a solid bench player in Derrick White? White brings them defence, shooting, and a decent playmaker coming off the bench to ease some of the sting of losing Jones.
