Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn adds Myles Turner for his rim protection and his ability to stretch the floor. He could be the final piece to the championship puzzle for the Nets. The one thing that could really hold back the Nets in the playoffs is good Centers. Nic Claxton is a solid player, but you do not want him to be the guy that’s guarding elite Centers in the East like Joel Embid. Myles Turner could be the guy that the Nets use to try and slow down those elite Centers. Plus his shooting ability is necessary in a lineup with Ben Simmons.

Indiana Pacers

While I am still unsure of what Indiana is planning to do with Turner, this could be an interesting trade option if that’s the route they want to go. Myles Turner is obviously a great player, but he is both on an expiring contract and he doesn’t necessarily fit their timeline. So they take advantage of the value he currently has and get a first round pick out of him. This would mean the Pacers have 4 first round picks in this next years draft, which is looking like it’s going to be a pretty deep draft class. This would give the Pacers several different opportunities to either draft a really good player or trade up using some of the firsts that they have acquired. Either way, it’s a win. Joe Harris is there for salary filler and I would imagine he is either traded to another team soon after this.
