Raptors Make A Splash - Pacers Start The Rebuild - Mavs Bring Luka His Boy

SUCCESS

Why for the Raptors? Sabonis is a borderline all-star and they bring him in for the cost of a few picks without breaking up the core of their team. A move like this could be a gamechanger in a wide open Eastern Conference and Nick Nurse could slide Sabonis into a role similar to what Gasol and Ibaka played a few years back just with more responsibility on the offensive end. Bullock's contract isn't ideal but is the price of doing business here without giving up more than they did and tbh having a wing defender who can knock down a three is never a bad thing to have on the roster. Maybe a change of scenery helps Bullock find his stroke like he had last year on the Knicks.

Why for the Pacers? The Warriors never called so the Wiseman/Kuminga package was never an option to say "yes" to. Other than them, who is going to offer you much more than this? Picking up multiple picks as well as two former first round picks allows the Pacers to start the rebuild. On top of that, while Powell is only here for cap filler, he is familiar face for Rick Carlisle and can possibly help add some veteran leadership.

Why for the Mavericks? Adding an additional scoring option to alleviate some pressure off Luka Doncic is something I'm sure Jason Kidd would welcome. Add in the fact that this player is a former all-star and a good friend of the current franchise player and you have an ideal fit. While losing Powell hurts having a motivated Chris Boucher could give them a different dynamic in the front court or at minimum eat a few minutes at the 5 spot (like Powell does) so Porzingis doesn't have to spend the entire game in the paint getting knocked around. The move also gives the Mavericks some flexibility in the 2022 off-season to resign some combo or all of Brunson, Finney-Smith and Dragic or add something new.
