Tatum and Beal are boys and went to the same high school in St. Louis. Yes, giving up a younger player who has three more years of team control for someone who can opt out and become a free agent after this season can be risky, but I don’t see a scenario where Beal wouldn’t stay in Boston. This is especially true if they bring in his buddy Dinwiddie which happens in this deal. The Wizards should try to get whatever they can for Beal since I don’t see him resigning this off-season. Jaylen Brown is a superstar already and it’d be hard to pass on him being the centerpiece of the Wizards for the foreseeable future.
