Nets 2022/2023 Offseason Plan

1) Nic Claxton, Joe Harris for Myles Turner

This trade sees them get off the contracts of Joe Harris for another 2 years, while also dealing Claxton for a much more efficient Turner. Brooklyn could be an opportunity for him to grow even more as a player. Turner has expressed his desire to be seen as more than just a role player and Brooklyn could provide him with a prominent role in the starting unit. Not to mention - an elite defensive front court of Turner and Simmons would tear up the NBA teams one by one.

2) Seth Curry and a 2026 SRP for Moses Moody

This trade sees Curry sealed to get younger. Moody can also be used as a trade asset later on, that trade was just to get off Curry's contract.

3) Let Drummond, Griffin, Aldridge walk

I would let Drummond, Grffin and Aldridge all walk as they are ageing and liabilities towards the franchise. This is where the replacement for better offensive players are needed.

4) Sign Schroder, Anthony, Cousins

Cousins and Melo were signed on minimum contracts. Melo would provide floor spacing off the bench and hit his shots, but the only downside - defence. Pairing him next to a good defensive center in Myles Turner and a second unit of possibly Bruce Brown and others would let Melo thrive and not having to do as much defending. Schroder would fit very nicely as the 6th man of the team after trading away Joe Harris and Curry. His court facilitation allows for teams to hit their shots and he's a very good playmaker imo.

5) Draft Kendall Brown (F) with the 23rd pick in the 2022 NBA Draft

Brown had a rough stretch from the Big 12 Tournament through the NCAA Tournament, but his athleticism, quick feet, breakaway speed and vertical leap make him a high-risk, high-reward prospect. The Baylor freshman could provide some added depth for the Nets on the wing, but he'll be a development project.
