WHY ROCKETS DO IT:

For 2 reasons:

1) Lakers will never give them a first to swap 2 identical contracts, 2 seconds are better than keeping Wall for nothing. There aren't other teams willing to pay for him.

2) Health is Westbrook's strenght, you can't say that about Wall. So, It's very likely - after a buyout - there would be a bidding war to sign him for MLE (tax or non tax for the teams well below luxury). This means the buyout would be bigger, while Wall would only be signed for minimum. I'm pretty sure Rockets' governor wouldn't be mad about saving 5-6 more millions.

WHY KNICKS DO IT:

They need a starting PG and Fournier was a bad sign, swapping them make a lot of sense. They get rid of Kemba and receive 2 expiring contracts they can try until the end of the season.

WHY LAKERS DO IT:

They get rid of RW without giving firsts. They get bad contracts and washed players, but they improve spacing.

Starting 5: Kemba, Bradley, Fournier, Bron, AD

Second Unit: Nunn, Monk/Ellington, THT, Melo/Bertans, Howard

WHY WIZARDS DO IT:

They prepare for Beal's departure this summer clearing cap space for 2023 and start a new era. Basically, they get peanuts from Widdie because they get to dump Bertans for free
