This deal would most likely happen at the trade deadline if the Pelicans are still the worst team in the Western Conference.

First, the Spurs get veteran shooting in CJ. Although he is on a bad contract, the Spurs are a young team and have plenty of cap space. Also they only have to give up a role player, and bad contract, and a few seconds.

For the Pelicans they get two solid backup big man they will improve their depth. They also get off of CJs contract.

For the Pacers they get and expiring deal which will help them resign Myles Turner in the offseason. I think resigning Turner is more important to them over keeping Toppin.

Finally, the Wizards get multiple seconds to take on one extra year of a bad contract.
