Trade Breakdown
76ers
76ers Give: Ben Simmons, Tyrese Maxey, 2024 2nd, 2023 2nd top ten protected, 2024 1st top 8 protected, 2022 1st, 2026 1st top 8 protected, and a 2027 2nd
76ers Receive: Kyle Anderson, Kris Dunn, Dillon Brooks, and Jaren Jackson Jr
Why 76ers Do This: The 76ers do this because this is the best offer they can get for Simmons. I know a bunch of people are going to say, "The 76ers are giving too many picks" but don't forget that Daryl Morey gave up A TON of picks to the Thunder to get Westbrook. I would say what they are getting in return, is better than Westbrook. So that explains the pick situation. The 76ers get Dillon Brooks, Kyle Anderson, Kris Dunn, and Jaren Jackson Jr who are all amazing defenders. The main part of this trade though, is Jaren Jackson JR. He is a phenomenal talent who is still very young and improving.
Grizzlies
Grizzlies Give: Kyle Anderson, Kris Dunn, Dillon Brooks, and Jaren Jackson Jr
Grizzlies Receive: Ben Simmons, Jae Crowder, 2024 2nd, 2023 2nd top 10 protected, 2024 1st, and 2022 1st
Why Grizzlies Do This: They do this because they get Ben Simmons who will improve their team quite a bit. Ben Simmons is a three time all star, and Memphis will do this because they are not used to people like Simmons going to Memphis. They also get Jae Crowder back who has two years of finals experience in the last two years. And all those picks will make it worth it for Memphis.
Suns
Suns Give: Jae Crowder
Suns Receive: Taj Gibson, Kevin Knox, and a 2026 1st top 8 protected
Why Suns Do This: The Suns do this because they get veteran presence in Taj Gibson who made it to the postseason many times in his career. They also get Kevin Knox who is a good young player with potential. They also get a pick to top it off.
Knicks
Knicks Give: Taj Gibson and Kevin Knox
Knicks Receive: Tyrese Maxey and a 2027 2nd
Why Knicks Do This: The Knicks do this because they get A HUGE upgrade over Kevin Knox. Tyrese Maxey is a really good young player and at times, he has been the second or third best player on the 76ers.
