The Los Angeles Clippers trade Patrick Beverley, Marcus Morris, Ivan Zubac, and 4 second round picks to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Russel Westbrook.
How this benefits the Clippers: They get a former MVP who would be a big upgrade for them at point guard. He could help the Clippers win a championship. I like Westbrook’s fit on the Clippers. His passing could help the rest of the team a lot, as they don’t really have a truly good playmaker. I think the clippers title chances improve a whole lot after this trade. It’s a risky move, but the reward is a championship, and you have to make those kinds of moves if you want to win championships.
How this benefits the Wizards: If things don’t turn out this year, I think the Wizards should start rebuilding. First up, trading Russel Westbrook. This would be quite the return for Westbrook. Two bigger, but tradable, contracts, a young Center, and four second round picks isn’t to shabby for Westbrook. This gives the Wizards a lot more assets that help them rebuild.
