The Utah Jazz won’t have any interest in either Steven Adams or Dillon Brooks here. Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies won’t be enthusiastic about parting with either of the solid veterans.

They’re the only players on the roster that can match salaries with Mitchell besides Jaren Jackson Jr. Something tells me the Grizzlies wouldn’t give him up.

They won’t be eager to hand Desmond Bane over to the Jazz either. Realistically, he’s the centerpiece of this deal for Utah. At the same time, they’re going to have to give up value to land a star of Mitchell’s caliber.

The Grizzlies have done a tremendous job with their rebuild. The turnaround between now and the Grit-and-Grind era was impressively short. If they feel they have a finished product, they won’t bother making a move for Donovan Mitchell.

On the other hand, since they didn’t advance past the Warriors this year, they may not feel they have a finished product.
