Why Utah Does This:

Utah has a lot of youth, with some of them being really good pieces. They resigned Lauri, but I think he should be the forefront for this future potentially, really good Jazz team.

In moving John Collins they open room for Kessler who I think should be the longterm center for this team, and some decent role players.

They get 3 more 1sts giving them a plethora of future picks, looking like a potentially, really scary team in the future.

Why Charlotte Does This:

Charlotte are in a rebuilding phase and are yet to find the future backcourt partner to pair alongside Lamelo.

They buy in to the 25 year old very capable Collin Sexton, who just had his best season while playing the off-guard.

Sexton is also a good defender with an extremely high motor, something that could be great alongside Melos nonchalant, lackadaisical playstyle.

It's also been shown in the past that Lamelo plays well alongside another guy that can handle the ball and create for himself, especially with Lamelos injury risks.

Overall I think this trade puts them into the Play-In next season.

Why LA Does This:

The Lakers need to make some sort of move, so they opt in to John Collins, and hope he can revert back into his 2021 season form.

His issue has always been his defence as a front-court player, well pair that with one of the best defenders ever in Anthony Davis, and that could be very promising.

The lack of shooting is a concern, but hoping Collins can at-least go back to being a serviceable jump-shooter isn't out of the question.

Also adding Schroder adds consistent shooting, playmaking and defence to the Lakers backcourt, for essentially 2 second round picks. They also get off of some cap in this trade as well

Also AD can finally go back to playing the 4, where he's always wanted to play.

Overall for not really an expensive package, I quite like this trade.

Why Brooklyn Does This:

In a year where they are not looking to compete whatsoever, they get D Lo back in Brooklyn, and a second round pick.

Who knows maybe they can revitalize D Lo, worth the risk considering they get 2 seconds in this trade as well
