Magic - it’s clear Orlando needs a perimeter shot creator badly. Coby White is cheap this year but will need an extension that could get pricey, but is an absolute perfect fit. Orlando doesn’t need to add many more rookies, so picks 16 and 25 are easily expendable.. plus Orlando still has two 2nd round picks to potentially add young difference makers.
Bulls - Chicago is currently in a weird place as they have young talent but are yet to commit to a full rebuild. Coby White fits with Chicago, but the issue is he likely won’t extend due to restrictions on how much Chicago can offer him so he’ll hit URFA, Chicago cannot risk him walking for nothing. Isaac’s contract is essentially expiring as the rest of his deal is non guaranteed, and flipping pick 16 for Mark Williams gives Chicago a long term center option that would be a fun fit with Josh Giddey. Chicago also gets pick 25 to add another first round talent.
Hornets - it’s no secret Charlotte doesn’t believe in Williams long term after they traded him to LA at the deadline and the trade got rescinded. they swap him out for pick 16 here which isn’t terrific value, but it may be where Williams’s value is at now. i would personally love to see Charlotte package picks 16, 33,34 and future draft capital to move back into the top 10 to select Khaman Maluach.
this trade seems to somewhat benefit all parties involved, would love to hear some thoughts.
