Hi All,

See attached my latest Lakers based trade. Here's why each team makes this deal in 10 days time.

Lakers: An obvious win for the Lakers which leaves them with a deep roster and an outside chance of contention without giving up their 29 1st. They take advantage of the fact that the Raps should be looking to move Trent. He comes in as a high volume 3 point marksman who can do a creidble job at the point of attack. Your standard complimentary Lebron roleplayer I can see Trent thriving next to both James and Russ while also getting his individual reps in 2nd man lineups. Porter proved his value last year on the Warriors. He's got great size and again can knock down the 3 at an above average clip. I think both of these guys come into a closing lineup for the Lakers on a night to night basis. Keeping the 1st in 29 also allows them to make a move next year and further strengthen the rotation extending their contention window by another year or two.

Raptors: As FakeNBAtrades wrote about in his 3 team Detroit move the Raps are facing financial issues next year with the tax and Trent seems to be the odd man out. They can get out of their tax issues and recoup a vauable 1st with this trade while only slightly weakening their roster this year. I think Trent might even request a trade closer to the deadline. He's had public criticism from Nurse in recent weeks and I can see him being happy signing a long term deal with LA in a system that accentuates his strengths. Porter as mentioned above is a great player but he's playing as much as Juancho Hernangomez this year. If he continues to play 18 minutes a night it makes sense to recoup the value of your MLE. Particularly in the Raps situation where they should continue to improve with the development of Scottie and other young talents like Koloko and Banton. There's no rush to go all in now and if anything this strengthens their pot of assets and could facilitate a true star trade in the near future. The incoming players aren't without their value either. Ross offers decent size and a little more half court shot creation than Porter while Bamba is a high upside guy with only 1 year guaranteed on his current deal. If he's a good fit in Toronto (allows them to play drop without sacraficing spacing) they resign at an affordable rate next year and if not they get out of $21,000,000 worth of expiring money, allowing them to recalibrate for future seasons.

Magic: Lastly for the Magic it's a simple transaction. They pick up two seconds for two low impact roleplayers in a season where they aren;t trying to win. Birch knows the team and Bev can either be rerouted or offer a good vet presence in the dressing room. Fit doesn't matter so much given their record and their Wemby aspirations.

Let me know your thoughts on this trade. I think it makes great sense for the Lakers and the Magic and the Raptors if willing to take a step back solve a few problems while also picking up a valuable asset in excahnge for two of their roleplayers.
