Why for the Wizards? While I don't personally think they should be doing this... the Wizards front office is intent on showing Bradley Beal that they intend on surrounding him with talent in effort to contend. This trade not only does that but gives them flexibility with Goran's expiring should things go south and Beal asks out after the season. They take a risk on the pick swaps if that happens but my thought process on that is they'd still have Sabonis and whatever the return is for Beal to either recoup assets or retool to contend.

Why for the Pacers? Adding multiple young players and a few picks in return for Sabonis is a great return. It also allows the Pacers to make Myles Turner more of a focal point on offense and either build his trade value for the off-season or give you a player to build around. Unless the Warriors come calling and are ready to deal Wiseman/Kuminga/Moody, I believe this is the type of return you can expect for Sabonis.

Why for the Raptors? They parlay Goran's expiring and a mid-level first round pick into two very good rotation pieces as they push for the playoffs. Nick Nurse recently made a comment that he really only trusts 6 guys on the roster to play heavy minutes, this move would give them 8 as both Harrell and Dinwiddie have proven they can be solid additions to any bench.
