I believe this is the fairest Simmons trade there is, if you want to argue about it then go ahead. However, this trade satisfies both teams. Darel Morey wants an all-star in return, which he gets with Russell, and all the extra pieces in the trade make it a fair deal because Simmons is still elite at everything except shooting. As for the Timberwolves, KAT said it himself, this is a very quiet offseason for Minnesota (except for firing the GM). Minnesota needs to shake things up to contend for a playoff spot.
