The 76ers walk out with a package that maybe isn't what they desire in terms of a top-30 player, but one with great fits in Harrison Barnes and Buddy Hield, as well as promising assets in Davion Mitchell, an FRP and a couple of SRP to be used or dealt in future deals.

The Kings take a huge gamble here in trading for Ben Simmons, as they're already somewhat full with playmakers (though getting one out here in Davion Mitchell); so you may think that this is a stupid trade. But, I believe that the Kings will trade De'Aaron Fox, and getting a secondary playmaker out of that may be more difficult that just getting Ben Simmons here, who yes, is a wildcard, but one I think worth the risk. Worst case, if Fox is kept around, Ben Simmons can very well function as a half-court player and a defensive stopper; someone who the offense can be run through as a leader when Fox and Haliburton aren't on the floor. Muscala is brought in as a floor-spacing center (mainly for Simmons) to be a foil for Holmes, and Williams is another body who'll be a hustle player for their push towards the playoffs. But for these two pieces, it means they'll have to part with Marvin Bagley (something that they should have done sometime ago), and also a FRP, a worthwile risk for two very valuable players.

The Thunder here, yes, part with two valuable players, but two who contribute to playoff teams; not tanking, youthful teams. They get a player who possibly could be one of the biggest wildcards in the entire NBA in Marvin Bagley, but if any team will give room to operate and grow, it'll be the OKC Thunder. He'll provide them with depth in the frontcourt and another project; one that I believe will work. They get more bodies from the 76ers, and someone like Niang might just be shipped out immediately to another competing team. Oh, and Sam Presti adds to his arsenal of FRPs.
