NOTE: Zach LaVine to the Lakers is a sign-and-trade, not sure why the website didn’t allow me to do that.
Lakers: Los Angeles gets out of the Westbrook excitement which ended up being a dumpster fire. They add a great third scoring option in LaVine and will look to be back in contention with the right pieces around their new big 3.
Potential starters:
Nunn - LaVine - Bradley - James - Davis
Knicks: New York catapults into contention with this trade as they add a perennial all-star in Mitchell along with an attempt to rejuvenate Westbrook into his former triple-double self. The Knicks could become a very dangerous team, especially with the bench pieces that they would still have.
Potential starters:
Westbrook - Mitchell - Barrett - Toppin - Robinson
Bulls: Some may say that Chicago gets better with this trade since LaVine was inconsistent and a liability on defense for them. Although it’s not the greatest return for an all-star player, the Bulls get two guys who can help contribute to winning basketball.
Potential starters:
Ball - Caruso - DeRozan - Randle - Vucevic
Jazz: Utah is in a weird position and I hope they realize the need to trade one (if not both) of Mitchell and Gobert. This is a hell of a haul for Mitchell with two solid young players and plenty of picks. I’d expect the Jazz to make a few other moves to couple with this one.
Potential starters: (hard to predict)
Conley - Quickley - Reddish - Bogdanovic - Gobert
