Why each team does this:
Miami Heat: The heat get there starting power forward and two players with diminshed trade value which they can hope to bring up and trade in a superstar trade with donovan mitchell or kevin durant if their price goes down.
Charlotte Hornets: They get a much needed defensive and rebounding starting center, a backup point guard, and two 2nd round picks for Washington who they dont want to pay 15 million next offseason. The center they get would stay with them for probably 5-8 million a year next offseason.
Lakers: With the Kyrie trade looking more dim since it doesn't look like KD's getting traded anytime soon they do this trade to get more shooting around lebron and anthony davis which they despertly need while giving up 3 players with diminshed trade values. They could also probably get away with giving up 2 secounds instead of the 2029 first. Also lebron brings the value of his teammates up so hopefully Lebron can bring Robinson's value up to the point where in the next offseason they can trade him to another contender for a first if lebron were to move on next offseason.
Pacers: They get something back for turner who would more than likely leave in the offseason and they trade hields heafty contract for a one year rental or a player they will just buyout. They get off Mcconnell's contract and they free up space to give young guys like Josh Jackson chances in the league again.
