The more I've watched Pascal Siakam this year, the more I've wanted him on the Knicks. What I've also come to realize is that Randle is playing at such a high level that he's unlikely to be traded which means I have to accept that Obi will likely not be long as a Knick. This trade sees the Knicks go all in and shake up the starting lineup by replacing Mitch with Siakam. They offer completely different things so I'll go into the rationale for each team next. Also, this trade would have to happen after January 15th due to the trade restriction since Mitch re-signed in the offseason.

Knicks: The Knicks decide to add another incredible offensive weapon along with some amazing defense in Siakam. Siakam has been playing at a high level for a while now so they'd be getting a player who can contribute right away. The biggest issue would be the offense and Thibs. Thibs has never been known as an offensive guru and this would put him to the test. This forces him to go small in the starting lineup (Brunson, Grimes, RJ, Randle and Siakam) and sacrifice rim protection. Siakam is a great defender, but he is not a rim protector like Mitch is. However, this would still be a great rebounding team and Reddish could ironically make his way into the lineup as a backup PF due to his length. They still retain IQ which would be huge as well. They give away a ton of picks but it's hard to see the Raptors taking less (they might ask for more actually).

Raptors: Things are just not working in Toronto this season. While Siakam is having an incredible year, no one else is and they're one of the top candidates to blow it up. This would give them a solid center in Mitch who's on a very team friendly descending contract. They also get former first round pick Obi Toppin who would give them a great prospect to develop at PF and who wouldn't take many touches away from Barnes or Anunoby. Derrick Rose is mainly included for salary purposes and is on a team option for next year so they could keep him around for veteran leadership if they trade more players or decline his option so they have more cap room. They get a boatload of picks for Siakam to try and start the rebuild but still may want more due to just how well Siakam is playing.
