I hate to keep harping on this but I just think Pascal Siakam would be an amazing player for the Knicks. He plays tough basketball and is the type of player that even Thibs would like. The downside for this will always been Thibs' lack of creativity in designing good offensive sets and his obsession with the rim protecting center. However, I'm hoping the sheer talent coming in would change his mind. The Knicks are playing quite well but seem at least 1 piece short (although probably more) of contention. This would definitely make them a playoff team and I think they could even win a round, but it's still hard to see them with the title. Still, they don't entirely empty their draft chest and still have moves to make afterwards. Quick note, this can only happen after January 15th due to restrictions on Mitch and Young's contracts but we're almost there anyways! So here's the team by team breakdown.

Knicks: As I said above, Siakam would be a powerful player on this team. On offense, he'd provide yet another option and a starting lineup of Brunson, Grimes, RJ, Randle and Siakam would have 5 players that are tough to guard. Additionally, if he's a small ball center, he wouldn't crowd the paint like Mitch does which opens up driving lanes for Brunson and RJ (and well everyone). Defensively, he has an insane wingspan and has been guarding centers for years now. He would likely struggle against the Embiids and Jokic's but who doesn't at this point when they're playing as well as they are. He's still a great defender and this team would be solid on the defensive end with him and Grimes as the leading defenders, and RJ and Randle solid ones when called upon. The Knicks also get a solid vet in Young to bolster the PF and SF positions as they send out several bigs in this trade. Bo Cruz and Bryant are also mainly here for depth and salary cap purposes. They give up 4 FRPs but only two unprotected ones as well as several second rounders as well. Hopefully all of this would convince the Raptors to blow it up!

Raptors: The Raptors season has been rough, there's no sugar-coating it. This trade gives them a ton of draft capital with 6 FRPs to utilize along with Obi and Hart, who are 2 promising young players who will shine away from Thibs. They don't take on any long term contracts and can rebuild around Barnes, Anunoby, Trent Jr., Obi and Hart. Again, this is a radical trade for them and it can definitely be argued that Siakam should be worth more. However I don't see the Knicks giving much (if any) more and the return for FVV is pretty good considering his injury issues in the past.

Lakers: The Lakers are such a messed up team and it's insane that they're somehow still in the play in picture, mainly due to some amazing performances by Lebron. This sees them finally pull the trigger and empty their draft chest to try and salvage the season. FVV is a great player and despite the injury worries, would be a massive upgrade on their current talent at PG. His value has gone down as he's having a down year but his history shows a solid 3 point shooter, great distribution and solid defense. The Lakers also reportedly want a center as cover for AD so they get Mitch who's team friendly contract descends each year. He's also young and provides better defense at the 5 than anyone they have outside of AD. They take a flier on Reddish who they've been reportedly interested in and he gives them a rangy wing who can play D and can provide scoring bursts. They also get Fournier who has somehow made it back into the Knicks rotation and can thrive in the right circumstances and is still one of the best 3 point shooters in the NBA. If Lebron keeps playing at the level he is and AD comes back playing like he was, this team could definitely make some noise and might even contend. They're also bringing on some younger players in Reddish and Mitch and FVV's contract next year is a player option so he could potentially opt out and sign for a lower amount to help them.

Anyways, this is a crazy one but one I'd like to see for all 3 teams involved. Sound off in the comments!
