1ST TRADE PROPOSAL to « Get JB as an Unrestricted Free Agent on July 1 (after a 1st Night Draft Trade  with Portland » (I will make a more simple trade after this one, so without a primary Knicks/Blazers Trade, with just the goal to make room for sign JB without S/T)

1) The Cap befor those moves is $118,2M

After the Draft (assuming the KNICKS won’t change anything) I will add the salaries of our #7, #11 and #42

According to the « 2022/2023 Rookie Scale 120 % (as usual) - (Spotrac or RealGM)

Pick 7 salary 22/23 = $5,9M

Pick 11 salary 22/23 = $4,5M

Pick 42 salary 22/23 = $1M (estimate VS that SRP range on 21/22)

So, after the Draft, our new Cap will be 118,2 + 11,4 = $129,6M

2) PISTONS’ « presence » explanations

The Knicks will waive TAJ GIBSON $5,2M on 22/23 but ZERO Guaranteed

FANSPO do not allow to waive players on a expiring NON Guaranteed Contract which is obviously on reality a thing that the Knicks CAN do from today to the deadline on his contract

→ « There is no guaranteed date on the $5.2 million salary for Taj Gibson » (Bobby Marks)

So in fact we could waive him until the opening 22/23

The « Pistons Part » is just here because FANSPO is not QUITE PRECISE and that is just a way to « exit » GIBSON from the Knicks' Payroll on FANSPO (as the Knicks do on reality on their own)

I would prefer be able to go to the « TAJ GIBSON’s profile » here and choose to « waive him » and then our Cap will fall to $5,1M but FANSPO do not allow that, which is why i do that!

So there is no need to talk about that Pistons part : it’s a « FAKE PART »

So our new Cap is 129,6 – 5,2 = $124,4M

3) After the trade JULIUS RANDLE / ERIC BLEDSOE

The Knicks will waive ERIC BLEDSOE : we don’t need and are NOT obligatory (according to the CBA) to guarantee the full amount of Bledsoe to make the trade work (so his Trade Value is only $3,9M) because Portland have the room to absorb a +$19M with Randle (without touching on their Trade Exception)

So we will save $15,4M on his $19,3M contract on our Cap (off course $3,9M as Dead Money on our Cap)

So our new Cap is 124,4– 15,4 = $109M

4) After Traded KEMBA WALKER to the Hornets (they need a PG back up, this is the « Kemba’s return to Charlotte » + they get a SRP)

Our new Cap is 109 – 9,1 = $99,9M

4) Our Cap Space at this time is now : 122 – 99,9 = $22,1M

5) I could choose to put a progressive contract for JALEN BRUNSON, but it’s a better move with our next seasons Cap (and futur Rookie’s extensions kicking on 23/24) to put a DECREASING for JALEN BRUNSON and a $22,75M salary 22/23, compare to this $22,1M Cap Space it will work !

Again that scenario assume that the «UN»restricted Free Agent JALEN BRUNSON want to play to the Knicks and IF that (he’s ok with this $85M/4y than i put here) then Dallas is out of the discussions here : of course because it’s HIS decision not their’s

Our new Cap is now : 99,9 + 22,75 = $122,7M

6) We have 1 spot available on our new roster, so i put our MLE Non Tax Player $10,3M on a $21M/2y for MONTRELZ HARRELL (UFA)

Our Final Cap is 122,7 + 10,3 = 133M (for 15 players then)
