So this is a bit of a weird one. The Knicks are looking more and more like a solid team but one with a bench that needs improvement. Meanwhile, the Bulls have looked out of sorts all season and since they traded away many of their picks to the Magic and the Spurs they don't have many means of improving long term. Their team is definitely not built for contention and may struggle to even make the play-in. This trade sees each team trade players that will help the Knicks now and the Bulls in the future.

Knicks: As I said above, the Knicks bench has looked rough to say the least. Part of that will likely improve now that RJ and Obi are healthy but it's still concerning. Vucevic would be a big improvement on Hartenstein, even with him having a rough season himself. Hartenstein simply hasn't been as stout on defense as the Knicks would like and Thibs doesn't really know how to utilize his skillset on offense. Vucevic can play like a traditional center but can also hits some mid range shots and even some 3s. Dragic is mostly here for salary but would be a good veteran voice on the team and fills the void left by Rose.

Bulls: The main point of contention for this is likely the lack of picks heading the Bulls way. However, the Knicks reportedly value Reddish as two second round picks and Hartenstein, despite his lackluster season, is worth at least 2 second rounders, maybe even a heavily protected FRP due to his age, contract and potential. Finally Rose is just a solid veteran and a great story for the Bulls in welcoming him home. The Bulls are trying to grab some young players who they can take a chance on and develop in this scenario. Reddish has oozed potential and Hartenstein would do much better under Donovan than Thibs. Rose would again be a great story, could provide some good mentorship for LaVine and some of the other young players and his contract next season is a team option so he wouldn't clog the cap sheet if they didn't want him to.

Anyways, hope you all give me some good feedback in the comments!
