Why would the Warriors trade Jordan Poole?
Look, I don't think the Warriors should trade Jordan Poole, he's a potential all-star at such a young age, and he's shown flashes of that. However, the Warriors are gonna have to pay him a lot of money and with the Andrew Wiggins + Draymond Green extensions looming, it's gonna be very hard to balance out the expenses for all 3 players. So, with Poole having the most value, they would bring back Cole Anthony, who has a similar playstyle to Poole and has one extra year on his rookie contract, plus 3 first round picks. It's better that the Warriors take this package as opposed to losing JP in free agency for nothing, because they probably aren't going to match a max offer any team gives JP.
Why would the Magic trade for Jordan Poole?
The Magic would do this if they really believe Jordan Poole is All-NBA level potential and they can't wait the extra year to pay him in free agency, so they hop on the Jordan Poole sweepstakes a year early. They also extend him so that they don't have to worry about another team maxing him out in 2023, and the Magic can build around a young core of Suggs-Poole-Franz-Paolo-Wendell, and other young players for the future.
