WHY MAVS DO IT:

Do I like Adams? No. In spite of that, not counting KP as a traditional 5, he would be BY FAR our best big.

Saric is out for the season, but next year he could be a legit KP/Adams back up.

And since he's injured and we get the bad Adams contract (and trade DFS), we also get a pick between 15-20.

Dallas needs to add talent badly, with 2 picks in 2022 we can get 2 good talents or trade up for a lottery talent or trading them for a real starter to replace DFS with.

WHY GRIZZLIES DO IT:

4 firsts (2 of them are very early seconds to be honest), 2 swaps, Slowmo and Clarke to add a franchise player. As a small market they will never get one from freeagency and Ayton is an opportunity right now. They don't need picks in 2022, they are very young.

They also get Jalen Smith: after he got declined the team option he'll be UFA, so they can give him a new contract. After 1 season we can't say he's a bust yet, there must be a reason if he got drafted at 10.

Starting 5: Morant, Bane, Brooks, JJJ, Ayton

Morant-Ayton PnR could be deadly on offense and Ayton-JJJ duo could become a 2020s version of Duncan-Robinson.

WHY PACERS DO IT:

Carlisle is the coach who better than anybody knows how to get the best out of DFS and is a way better fit for Sabonis.

Since he's older and a worse player than Turner, they also get 2 firsts (GSW and worst between Utah and LAL) and a player of the same age who was pretty good these past 2 years.

Starting 5: Brogdon, LeVert, Warren, DFS, Sabonis

Second Unit: TJ, Holiday, Duarte/Craig, Clarke, Bitadze

WHY SUNS DO IT:

If they don't want to give Ayton the max, they could replace him with Turner who's a solid starter even for a contender and he's not much older than Ayton.

They also get Slowmo, his playmaking off the bench would help their second unit a lot since they don't have anybody with great playmaking skills when CP3 and Booker rest.

And a first very similar to the one they would have gotten if they still had theirs (best between Utah and LAL) + 2 possible swaps.

Starting 5: CP3, Booker, Bridges, Crowder, Turner

Second Unit: Payne, Shamet, Slowmo, Cam, McGee
