This whole trade relies on the Sixers needing to get rid of Greens contract and wanting a proven scorer.
Would they be willing to attach a first to get rid of Green and Korkmaz to get a winger that can consistently put up 12-16 points in the playoffs taking pressure off Harden and Embiid? Or would THJ's contract put them off?
I think Sixers have to go for it now, and unless their willing to part ways with Thybulle I don't see them getting something much better. The Mavs are one of the few teams that is desperate to acquire a 1st round to use in a future trade. Even if THJ doesn't completely work out, he'd provide more than whatever they'd get in the 23rd pick and the players their trading (at least next 2 seasons). Also THJ contract decreases yearly.
After it's pretty straight forward. Orlando take in 2 expiring contracts, Green who is still has some upside and has a minimal contract. Mainly they get a FRP for a player that could walk.
In FA the Mavs get:
Dragic on a vet min
Batum on a vet min? - I have my doubts because maybe he can get a better offer but would be a great 3&D wing player
Oladipo using the TPMLE - Hopefully Oladipo is availabe for that price, he would be great taking on THJ's role. For that price you're taking a minimal gamble on a player that, even if he gets back to half of what he used to be, after a full healthy offseason, could be amazing.
Hartenstein on a min - with Powell Marjanovic and Quese leaving and Mo and Wood (who can also switch to the 4) it'd probably a good idea to get one more C. Hartenstein on a minimum would be a no thinker. Young player with a great upside that has shown flashes of being a great player the few minutes he's played.
Even if the THJ trade doesn't happen I'd love for the FA signings to look something like this.
1- Luka/Dragic/Frank
2.JB/Spence/Korkmaz
3.Bullock/Oladipo/Doe
4.Doe/Batum/Kleber/Wood
5.Wood/Mo/Hartenstein/Kleber
