WHY THUNDER DO IT:

They get a second to pay Langford, they could also get some money.

WHY SPURS DO IT:

For Poeltl, J-Rich and accepting TWO years of Bertans, they:

• Get an asset like Grant they can extend or trade at the deadline

• Get a decent young player like Diallo

• Get a trade up from 38 to 26

WHY MAVS DO IT:

• J-Rich would be way more useful now than last year

• CoJo is a better defender than JB, but waaaaaaaaay worse scorer of course. Since we get J-Rich too, that's not a huge problem.

• Poeltl is, IMO, the best center we can get without giving multiple picks.

This trade is 100% legal because we basically swap JB for Joseph (so less than 50% of JB contract) and then J-Rich and Poeltl for THJ.

2022-23 Mavs. WE DON'T PAY LUXURY:

Starting 5: Luka, CoJo, Reggie, DFS, Poeltl

Second Unit: Widdie, J-Rich, Josh/Frank, Maxi, Dwight

Third Unit: Frank, Theo, Sterling, Chriss, Boban

We lose a bit of scoring, but get even better on defense and the good center we need. I think we improve.

WHY PISTONS DO IT:

Their new starting 5: Cade, JB, Bey, Smith/Banchero/Holmgren, Ayton + THJ and Stewart

No secret they see Cade as a new Luka, so they sorround Cade with a Luka-lite team.
