Now look, first off, this isn't NBA related but it is basketball related, so please don't get mad at me. OK, I was bored a few days ago during the winter break. So on my computer, I searched "Basketball Games Online", and the first thing that came up was a game called Basketball Legends. I'd played it once in 2016, but I'd never tried this new version. So, I click on it and the first thing I notice is that so many things are spelled incorrectly. Anyways, I hit "Play" and it loads up to just awful music. The cover art has LBJ and MJ and they look nothing like themselves. There were a few options of 1 player, 2 players, Quick Match and Credits. I went straight into 1 player and selected tournament to see what it was. Also, there's a training which is weird cause this game has no skill whatsoever. Anyways, the first team that came up were the Lakers and this was the worst artistic representations of Lebron, AD and Caruso. I also noticed they all have superpowers like Fast Break, Mega Dunk or Defense. So I scrolled through the teams, and note this is 2020 rosters, but everybody looks nothing like their IRL self. And from the 3 players they got to chose, a lot of them were solid but for Boston they chose Kemba and Smart over JB? I still don't know who's who by this artwork. Note, the players don't have legs in the game, their faces are huge and the shoes look... just bad. Then, I click 1-vs-1 and I click Hard to see how tough it really is. They had a tournament and oddly a 3rd place match? Also, there were no conferences which just made me confused. I was playing OKC and I realized it was a minute long game! I was playing Shai and the court is horrible. The fans are fake, the court is tiny and the rims and the free throw line is beside the net. Oh did I mention it's a 2-D game? Anyways, the game starts and I didn't know the controls but I have the ball, jump up and down from the 3 to the rim. I scored a weird 3 and as I was waiting for Shai to score, it took him 12 attempts, wide-open, next to the rim. Eventually, I saw a little power-up in the top corner. I used it and it's so cheesy for Tatum. It's an instant blow by against the player for free points. I missed a shot earlier in the game but then a random message popped up of me scoring. I tried to go for a steal then after and I spammed it, but there were no fouls! When I stole it, the player had big eyes and it was just weird. OK, so I'll just skip to the end of the game where the CPU is down 3, so they'd have to go for a 3 right? Wrong, they drive in for a wide open dunk and miss it. I wanted to see if there was an OT so I tried some things and found a glitch where you can shoot on your own net so I sent it to OT. Also during this game, there were times where I couldn't do anything and it was so laggy plus if you hit the arrows twice in a row, you just go really fast past the CPU and it's way too cheesy. In OT, my player decided to float in mid-air and take a full court fade-away three. I missed so they get the rebound and go for a layup for the win, but I contest, get a block and hit it off the backboard and score?! I scored from a block, yup. The animation after the game is the score, the winning player jumping and the losing player crying the most fake tears imaginable. I looked at the tournament after I won and teams were scoring 42-38 in a minute? IDK how this happens. Also, this game has no mechanics. I played with Ben Simmons and drained 8 threes in 1 minute. There's no shot meter or stats or anything since it's just like a random game. Let me cut to the semi-finals. I'm tied with 2 seconds left and I score a 2. So, the CPU drives and with 00.0 on the clock, they still had the ball in their hands and scored. I'm in the Finals now and I'm playing the Bulls. Let me mention that they missed a lot of teams like Sacramento, Phoenix, etc. and all teams are their city (Brooklyn Brooklyn, Dallas Dallas, etc.). The Bulls are the 96 ones? It's MJ, Pippen and Rodman on their team. In the Finals, it was tied and I, no joke, hit a full court contested 3 at the buzzer for the win. Yep, this happened. I won, got 1st place and got the worst trophy ever. And that was it... There was nothing for winning it all? Then I tried out "Training" and there's no timer and you just score. Why does this matter if there's no skill in this game? Oh, also the mesh of the basket sways really hard after you score and it annoyed me the entire tournament. At the end of the day, let me just say do not play this. Find another game that actually requires skill and is fun. This was the worst basketball game ever and thank you for listening to my TED talk.
