Blazers trade CJ McCollum to the Knicks in exchange for Kevin Knox and 3 first round picks (one unprotected (2021), one top 5 protected (2023), one top 8 protected (2025)).

Blazers trade Derrick Jones Jr, CJ Elleby, one unprotected first round pick (2024), and two unprotected second round picks (2022 and 2026) in exchange for Myles Turner and Justin Holiday

Blazers trade Kevin Knox (sign and trade) Jusuf Nurkic (extend and trade), and 4 first round picks (one unprotected via Knicks (2021), one top 5 protected via Knicks (2023), one top 8 protected via Knicks (2025), one top 5 protected (2026) to the Clippers in exchange for Kawhi Leonard (sign and trade).

Blazers sign Norman Powell to a 3 year, 60 million dollar deal.

Blazers sign Kawhi Leonard to a 3 year, 106.5 million dollar deal with a player option for the third year (36.5 mil).

Clippers sign Kevin Knox to a 3 year, 9 million dollar deal.

Clippers extend Jusuf Nurkic’ one year, 12 million dollar deal to a 3 year, 46 million dollar deal.

Pacers sign Derrick Jones Jr to a 3 year, 30 million dollar deal.

Pacers sign John Collins to a 4 year, 79 million dollar deal.

Why the Blazers do it: This is the easiest one to explain. They get Kawhi, Turner, Holiday, extend Norman Powell and become one of the best teams in the west. The Blazers need defence? This gives them PLENTY of defence. Kawhi and Turner are All defence team level defenders, and Holiday is a good perimeter defender. A lineup of Lillard, Powell, Kawhi, Covington, and Turner is really good. Then off the bench you have Holiday, maybe Carmelo if he comes back, and whoever else they sign. This is an easy trade for them to make.

Why the Knicks do it: CJ seems like the perfect player for the Knicks. He can be the legitimate number one option, allows Randle to focus more on the other aspects of his game that have been growing this year, such as passing and rebounding. CJ could be the player the Knicks need to finally be a threat in the playoffs. 3 firsts and Knox may be a high price, but it’s worth it when you haven’t made the playoffs in 20 years.

Why the Pacers do it: I think the Pacers should start rebuilding around Sabonis. Sabonis is a really solid player and he seems like he’d be a good player to build around for the Pacers. So, trading Turner is probably necessary. I’d say this is good value for Turner and Holiday. They acquire some young talent, a first round pick, and a couple of second round picks. I do feel like the Pacers should get more, but I wasn’t sure what else I should add.

Why the Clippers do it: This would only happen IF KAWHI WANTS TO LEAVE. If he does, this is terrific value to get for him. A younger Center who’s a good fit on the team, a SF with a good amount of upside, and 4 first round picks is really good for Kawhi, especially since this is a sign and trade. This trade would allow the Clippers to build a different team around Paul George, and they could still be good in the process of that.
