The Pacers rebuild gets a big boost at a decent price. The ideal draft night is walking away with both Jaden Ivey and Benn Mathurin in this scenario to fill the 2 and 3 spots for years to come alongside Tyrese Haliburton.

For the Pacers, it’s not a small price to pay in giving up Duarte, but one that is aggressive towards finding potential all-stars rather than good role players.

This is a two trade scenario for the Pacers in which the first one, completed with the Wizards, gives them the floor general they need alongside Beal. The move helps convince him to opt in and stay in DC. The price of the 10th pick and clearing two contracts they don’t want is well worth it.

The Kings are the big hurdle here. Sliding back six spots for Duarte and a ‘23 lottery protected 1st is a good bargain. For the naysayers, it’s unlikely they’ll see anything better from the other teams trying to jump up. Walking away from draft night with both Duarte and a player like Sochan really helps their roster for this year. They need wings and they land future draft capital. It would be viewed as a win for Sacramento.
