Why this trade benefits Indiana: The Pacers are known to retool, never rebuild. They lose Myles and Justin Holiday, but they roll the dice on some young potential and a 2021 FRP and free up cap space to bring back their depth pieces (the Macs). Obi Toppin gains an opportunity to develop into a PF who can benefit from playing alongside a playmaking center in Sabonis. Quickley is the real potential prize for Indiana and why they risk moving Turner. They need a point guard who can distribute and play defense.

The Pacers new starting lineup (could go a number of ways honestly, but I prefer): Quickley, Brogdon, LeVert, Warren, Sabonis

Why the Knicks make this trade: They get Turner as the big prize, but the Holiday brothers and Lamb give them solid depth on value contracts. They can easily let Lamb and Aaron Holiday walk after the season. Trading for value depth gives them the cap space to bring back D Rose and bring in Lonzo Ball. Ball's defense is perfect for Thibodeau's style, as is Turner.

The Knicks get to upgrade and build off the success of this past season and take some of the load off Randle.

The Knicks new starting lineup: Ball, Rose, Barrett, Randle and Turner.
