WHY BULLS

I'm just going to mention the starting lineup

Lonzo Ball, Zach Lavine, Demar Derozan, John Collins, Nikola Vucevic

The best part about it is that practically everyone on the starting lineup except for Zach Lavine have new contracts. This roster could be put together for years to come. Losing Patrick Williams for John Collins is nothing. Losing Cobi White doesn't hurt because you still have Ayo.

WHY ATLANTA

Once again, I'm just going to post the starting lineup ...

Trae Young, Bogdan Bogdanovich, Brandon Ingram, Jerami Grant, Clint Capela

They may have some financial things to work out in 2023 but it's not impossible. Plus with the young core of DeAndre Hunter, Kevin Heuter, and Onyeka Okungwu remain intact and in fact. They'd still have PLENTY of moves that they could make to make their future remain competitive. The picks they traded would be late first-rounders and the OKC pick is likely to become two 2nd rounders anyway.

WHY PELICANS

The Pelicans are in limbo and have an insecurity about their future in regard to superstar Zion Williamson. Their young players in which they've drafted haven't really worked out for them as well. Insert a trade spearheaded by two widely valued and discussed young players in Cam Reddish/Patrick Williams, along with a really good backup center/power-forward in Kelly Olynyk, and some draft collateral which includes giving them a 1st round pick in 2022 (they have a high amount of 2nd rounders to go with it) and two 1st rounders in 2024. Admittedly I think the Pelicans are the one team that MAY want a little more. Maybe another player or pick but I think at the least this is considerable for them as they are unsure of their future.

WHY PISTONS

Not only can Coby White have a chance to blossom playing alongside Cade Cunningham but Gallinari can have a chance to try and refind himself. With that said, in regard to the players, the Pistons are honestly trading for potential. Insert the 3 draft picks. The Pistons do not have a 1st round draft pick that they can trade until each offseason all the way up until 2028. This being because they owe a pick to the Rockets. It's a real crutch during the season to not be able to trade a pick until each offseason and that's only if you don't finish within the range your pick owed to the Rockets specifies (ie. this year it's top 16 protected). Troy Weaver has a reputation for being able to make moves. Those draft assets and the league-leading cap space will really allow him to make moves for the future of his Detroit Pistons team. With a projected top 3-5 pick of his own in 2022, along with these picks, and his cap space, I'd say stay tuned if a trade like this went down.
