NOTE: BOJAN IS ELIGIBLE TO BE TRADED! FANSPO NEEDS TO FIX THIS
Why it would work for Toronto
The Raptors are facing some tax issues next season and are reportedly shopping Gary Trent. Burks could replace Trent next year for $8M less or Toronto could decline his option and let him become a FA
The Raptors are reportedly looking for a vet PG to back up VanVleet. Cojo was well liked in Toronto when he played there before.
The Raptors are reportedly looking for a true Center with defensive chops to help out in certain matchups. Hello Nerlens
The Pistons would take Khem Birch and the the $7M he will be paid next season easing Toronto's tax concerns, Noel has a team option for next season that will likely be declined
Malachi Flynn has dropped to 3rd on the depth chart behind Banton who is younger and cheaper. Pistons would take on his $3.8M contract for next year
Noel and Cojo's mid size expiring contracts will be easy to include in trades if they choose to look for further upgrades before the deadline.
Lineup changes from trade would be simple. Burks would take Trent's minutes, Joseph would get the backup PG minutes, and Noel would replace Birch at the end of the bench until needed.
Why it would work for Atlanta
The Hawks reportedly would like to be relieved of the 4 years and $100M left on Collins Contract
Bojan is a great replacement, makes $5M less next season, and only has one fully guaranteed year left on his deal
Bojan would likely be a much better fit next to Capella for the Hawks then Collins
The shooting the Hawks would have with Young, Murray, Bogdan and Bojan on the floor together would be sick.
Second round picks are always useful to have around for trading.
The only lineup change would be Bojan replacing Collins as the starting PF
Why it would work for Detroit
With the Pistons clean cap sheet they can easily afford to take on the big multi year contracts of Trent and Collins
Collins at 25 and Trent at 23 will fit in perfect with the rest of the Pistons young core of Cunningham, Ivey, Duren, Bey, Stewart, Hayes, Livers and Bagley who are all age 23 or younger.
The Pistons needs a true PF who can score, rebound, protect the paint, and contest shots. Collins checks all the boxes
The other missing piece in the Pistons young core was a wing who can hit 3's consistently, plays solid D, and does not turn the ball over often. Trent does them all
Even with taking on 4 contracts for next seaosn in this trade DET would still have $24M available in cap space when the offseason kicks off.
No team in the NBA would be able to match the Pistons collection of young talent.
