Why the Raptors do this:
Although they give up on Flynn and a couple future picks, they receive a load based on this years upcoming draft. With the 9th pick they will have the opportunity to select one of the top players they have recently interviewed, and with the 28th pick they can select another late diamond in the rough! This is a risk move for the raptors but the protection on their FRP makes this feasible for them to participate in this trade.
Why the Spurs do this:
At first sight the spurs may reject this offer but when this deal is analyzed further, this is a deal is a steal for the spurs. Poetl is on an expiring deal and could walk next summer, and a swap for wiseman does not only ensure that the spurs have more control of their big man, but also gives them a young building block that needs development in a pop system. Wiseman, although injured, has tons of potential to develop into a star franchise big man. Birch provides them with an insurance vet off the bench, and a couple totters protected firsts help sweeten the deal.
Why the Warriors do this: Even though poetl is on an expiring deal, he gives the warriors a dominant presence inside when matching up agains larger teams. This year they have become lucky with smaller matchups, but the force of jokic, Gobert, AD, KAT, and potentially Embiid in the finals could put GSW’s title aspiration to a halt. If they want to go all in while maintains youth, this is a move that they need to take a look at. The lottery protected first sweetens the deal to help land them JP, and the SRP lessens the scare of losing the FRP. Flynn is highly underrated and underused by the raptors and could be something special on the warriors who could use a legit backup PG off the bench beside Poole.
