Sixers need scoring from the perimeter and someone who can create their own shot. You get that in Sexton who is a hard worker and fits the Philly mentality much more than Simmons. They also get wing depth with Barnes and scoring off the bench in Beasley. Future picks allow them flexibility to trade for a star later if one opens up in the market.
