Pistons are picking a PF in the draft whether Holmgren, Smith or Banchero it will be a F. Grant is on an expiring & wants a max or near max. No big FA is going to Detriot so cap space is useless. Use it to acquire LAs picks. Should Smith or Banchero be good immediately, Westbrick will be trade bait staying away from the team for a guy like Lillard who with their picks should pair nicely next to Cunningham. Or they get the cap space & sign FAs once the Pistons become ~.500 this year with Cunningham. Philly & LA are desperate & ripe to get robbed.

Philly gives up a pick, their first rd pick G (if Maxey, Reed & Joe are indications this guy will be a great rotational guy next year who Doc simply refused to play year 1). They also give up Thybulle who isn't a good shooter but he is an all NBA caliber defender. Green is an injured expiring. In return they add what they desperately needed a F who can attack closeouts & defend the rim on weak side rotations.

LA gives up Russ & 2 picks for the NBA players, Kelly O & Thybulle both would start for them. One is a knock down shooting 5 so AD can get space to play and they get shooting. the other a nightmare defensive wing. They also get under the cap to offer Monk the full MLE. Those picks are useless if they are betting they'll be good by then. Only time will tell but 2 firsts is the cost.
