Analysis: The top 3 in this class are elite. Ekwonu is a physical freak, Neal’s technique is unlike any prospect I’ve ever seen, and Cross is an elite pure pass blocker. They all would be top 10 picks in pretty much any draft. Trevor Penning is the only other Day 1 starter I see at OT, though he is just not at the level of those other 3. Tier 3 is interesting because I think all four will be Day 2 picks that will play at some point in 2022. Their talent isn’t overly impressive, and they all have their concerns, but they can be plenty fine as a starting RT for a few seasons for a playoff team. If the Tier 3 prospects can improve upon their weakness’ they can be legit pros for years. Tier 4 is a lot more raw than the other three tiers, but I also see no more than one of those guys going before Day 3. Tier 4 is another tier that is dependent on what the teams scheme is and what they want in their tackles. Tier 5 is the Practice Squad stashed tier where one or two of these guys will play at some point and the rest will vanish from the football landscape. The best value here is Tier 1 (seriously, these three are really good). The worst value in my opinion is Tier 4, and this is less about the prospects and more about the teams. I don’t want to use a fourth round pick on a guy that has a one in five chance of being serviceable, not even good, just serviceable at tackle. I’d much rather add a starting slot corner or a rotation defensive lineman or someone like that.
