Tier: Mid-Late First-Round Pick

Player Comparisons: Aaron Gordon, Rudy Gay, Kevin Knox

Dillon Mitchell is a rare athlete with arguably the best hops of anyone in the draft. He’s an elite finisher and is already on NBA standards in terms of athleticism. He’s got an interesting frame that allows him to play the 3 as well as small-ball 4. He can create offense and he’s great in transition. His shooting from outside the arc and from midrange needs improvement but with time to develop at a school like Texas, he should improve there. He very well could go mid-late lottery as a raw prospect just because of how athletic he is.

OFFENSE incredible athlete BUT DOES NOT HAVE A SEMBLANCE OF A JUMPER Teams will target Mitchell for easy baskets and defensive playmaking fueled by his wild blend of quickness and bounce, though zero assists or made threes highlights his offensive limitations He is an absolute monster on the offensive glass, snaring 2.4 ORB per game. Mitchell also has solid cutting instincts, and his cutting allows him to contribute positively on offense when he’s off the ball PASSING NOT GREAT ANZI , Mitchell doesn’t read the floor well as a passer despite his defensive awareness

DEFENSE on the defensive end, he’s been a menace. He uses his elite athleticism very effectively on the defensive end; when you pair his 6’8” frame with his solid defensive footwork and excellent mobility, it’s hard to imagine him not being a plus defender in the NBA Mitchell also reads passing lanes at a really high level, generating steals at an impressive rat

Tier 5.5 : One contract player/5 or 6 years in the NBA

I have to watch and read about him to finish my prospect evaluation.

He could benefit from returning next year on a lower-talented draft.

Best fit team :

Not staying in the Draft. Final ranking : 67.
